Bryan, TX started as a small-town stop along the Houston and Texas Central Railway. In 1866, it became the county seat of Brazos County. By 1871, the city of Bryan was officially incorporated. The Carnegie Library of Bryan opened to the public in 1902, after the city received a grant of $10,000 from Andrew Carnegie.
