The Brazos Valley is a region located in Central Texas that includes Brazos County, Burleson County, and Robertson County. According to the U.S. Census, the Brazos Valley had a population of 278,696 in 2003. This population is estimated to have increased to over 300,000 as of 2015.
Although the Brazos Valley is comprised of a few counties, the area is centered around Bryan, TX
and College Station, TX
in Brazos County. The area earns its name from the Brazos River, which runs through the center of the Brazos Valley.
Despite its proximity to river, not all areas of the Brazos Valley are part of the Brazos watershed. Today, Texas A&M serves as the center of social and economic life in the Brazos Valley.
